Mamo Assefa leads Delon Hampton & Associates’ engineering design services, providing strategic direction and hands-on oversight to ensure client expectations and project requirements are fully met. His combination of deep technical expertise and strong management skills allows him to deliver customized, high-quality solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Mamo brings more than 25 years of experience in the design and management of complex civil engineering, site development, and infrastructure projects. He is a Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)–approved expedited reviewer and has reviewed numerous stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans on behalf of MDE.
His technical expertise spans roadway design, infrastructure and utility systems, and site planning, including both preliminary and final design for a wide range of civil projects. Mamo’s portfolio includes location analyses, grading and earthwork design, field studies related to traffic and pedestrian movement, intersection improvements, and hydraulic and hydrologic analyses supporting the design of stormwater management facilities.
Additional experience includes storm drain design, floodplain delineation and impact analysis, permitting coordination with local and regulatory agencies, cost estimating, and the development of construction and materials specifications.
