DC Youth Services Center

Washington, DC

Delon Hampton & Associates (DHA) provided civil engineering services for the secured juvenile rehabilitation facility. The design-build facility included the construction of five new buildings with a total of 90,000 gross SF of floor area and 150 parking spaces. The building also includes a freestanding gymnasium, a kitchen, dining areas, a 120-seat theater, student common areas, and academic and vocational training departments. The new center houses 60 students and features an interior pedestrian landscape courtyard with basketball courts, a tennis court, baseball diamond, and football field.

This facility was the second District of Columbia project to exceed the LEED Silver requirement and was the first DC Department of Real Estate Services' project to achieve LEED certification (by the United States Green Building Council - USGBC).
