Michael McGuinness serves in a dual role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Delon Hampton & Associates. For eight years, Michael served as the firm's CFO before expanding his role in 2017 to include COO. Michael has more than 36 years of experience in financial and operations roles, predominantly in the design and construction industry.
As COO, Michael leads the overall operations of Delon Hampton & Associates, including multi-disciplined engineering, program and construction management, contracts, financials, business development, and customer relationship management. He is focused on improving operational efficiencies, ensuring quality of service, and growing the company.
As CFO, Michael directs all financial aspects of the business including accounting practices, budgeting, financial planning, interface with the financial community, financial analysis, and monitoring of financial performance. He is responsible for upholding strong financial management and accountability while providing timely, accurate, and reliable financial information and enhancing internal control.
Prior to joining Delon Hampton & Associates, Michael held the positions of controller and chief financial officer at large construction firms, where he developed procedures for the accounts receivable department to reduce the percentage of over 90-day receivables from 30 to 13%. He also consolidated offices, staff, inventory and facilities, resulting in a reduction of fixed costs by 15 % and sales break-even by 13%.
