Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Financial Analyst.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, comply with, analyze project and accounting records in response to inquiries from internal and external sources and prepare the necessary documentation to support findings. Prepare correspondence and/or reports in response to inquiries;
  • Review the monthly A/P closing process and ensure the timely posting of closing entries pursuant to the monthly General Ledger closing schedule;
  • Support client's Task Managers and stakeholders in tracking assets and ensuring adherence to client's asset management policies and practices;
  • Gain an understanding of client's systems and procedures for entering data into systems of record;
  • Work with the project management team to collect information and clearly depict the information in a manner that is easily reported;
  • Meet deadlines for generating reports, letters, memoranda, and other assorted documents required to support the department;
  • Disseminate information to and between managers and other staff as well as internal clients or partners as needed, creating defined information sourcing; and
  • Compile and analyze basic information for inclusion in reports or presentation materials to assist management with preparation and communication of information.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; (five (5) years of demonstrable experience in a similar role may be considered as alternate work experience);
  • In addition to the previous bullet, a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a financial management and accounting position(s) or a mix of financial management and project management experience;
  • High competency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Experience working with documents, hard copy and digital, and file management;
  • Ability to manage tasks in a highly organized manner;
  • Experience performing quality control checks;
  • Ability to clearly anticipate and provide equitable solutions to problems;
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, and display punctuality, initiative, and a good work ethic;
  • Ability to multi-task and use office tools to maximize communication and manage interruptions;
  • Experience working with secure contract documents, reports, and plans of client's infrastructure that may be classified as sensitive information;
  • Ability to work independently; and
  • Previous document archiving experience preferred.
