Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Quality Assurance Inspector.

Responsibilities

  • Complete an ADA inspection checklist for all stations inspected from the pending stations;
  • Communicate and document inspection results in a constructive manner to each department for resolution;
  • Verify and document that any non-compliance issues have been fixed when notified by the responsible client's department;
  • Complete and submit a monthly Quality Assurance (QA) report;
  • Conduct and document focused site visits to investigate complaints regarding accessible station features and follow up on any necessary corrective actions; and
  • Perform and document full gap inspections between train thresholds and platforms when there are reports of on non-compliance and follow up on necessary corrective actions.

Qualifications

The ADA Quality Assurance Inspector shall have experience inspecting facilities, reading station and construction drawings, knowledge of the ADA regulations, and fluency in using Excel and Outlook. Previous experience as a consultant is preferred. The client will provide specific ADA training for this position. Specific qualifications for this position are as follows:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in engineering, architecture or a related field;
  • Experience in ADA compliance;
  • Able to read civil engineering drawings and architectural drawings;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products particularly in Excel.

Working Conditions 

Work is performed within a general office environment 10% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Field work may be required 90% of the time where work may be conducted outside in one or more of the following conditions: heat or cold, wet or humid, and dry or arid. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.
