Delon Hampton & Associates is seeking a Public Works Inspector to serve on a new contract with the City of Baltimore Public Works.

The Public Works Inspector II will ensure that contractors comply with specifications, standards, and codes for public construction projects by performing on-site inspections on highways, streets, bridges, water and wastewater systems, or other complex construction projects. The work involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.


  • Assigns, reviews and gives work direction to subordinate inspectors engaged in the inspection of highways, streets, bridges, water and waste water systems facilities or other construction projects.
  • Receive general supervision from a technical superior.


  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in water and wastewater distribution or plant inspection.
  • Computer proficient, especially using construction management software.
  • Familiarity with the City of Baltimore Public Works regulations is preferred.

Working Conditions

Inspector will receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employee will work a conventional work week; however, some evening and weekend hours may be required. 


Work is performed outdoors where incumbents are exposed to construction sites, inclement weather, dust, noise and traffic. Work requires minimum physical exertion however, there may be periods of prolonged standing or walking.
