Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Public Works Inspector.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will ensure that contractors with specifications, standards and codes for minor public construction projects by performing on-site inspections on highway, street, bridge, water and waste water systems facilities, conduits or other minor construction projects
  • Incumbent will receive moderate supervision from a technical superior
  • Candidate will work a conventional workweek, but may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday hours on a 24-hour on-call basis

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience performing construction inspection work
  • Proficient with computer skills, Microsoft Office Suites and Primavera CM14

New employees MUST be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since the final dose of a primary vaccine series.

Working Conditions

Work is performed outdoors where candidate is exposed to construction sites, inclement weather, dust, noise and traffic. May require working in confined spaces with high voltage cables. Work requires minimal physical exertion; however, there may be periods of prolonged standing or walking.
