Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Project Manager.

This engineering position is designed for a 20+ year engineer who can support the Design Quality Manager with overseeing design contracts for the DC PLUG Program to ensure that all design activities are delivered with quality work, on-time, and budget within DDOT and Pepco required standards. The engineer shall have experience in planning, design, scheduling, cost estimating, and general knowledge of all local and federal requirements of roadway and electrical distribution design.

Responsibilities:

  • Review electrical feeder infrastructure task order scope of work, design plans, schedules, budgets, cost estimates, special provisions, and standard program specific typical details;
  • Prepare and maintain timely reporting to DDOT for the monitoring and reporting of design project status and conditions;
  • Coordinate with design consultant, program management team, DDOT and Pepco personnel, and construction management team as necessary;
  • Supplement construction quality oversight team utilizing expertise in electrical infrastructure construction management in responding to RFIs; and
  • Develop practice groups focused on pursuing electrical distribution infrastructure design and program/construction management opportunities.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering;
  • Twenty (20+) years of relevant experience;
  • Experience reviewing drawings and responding to field or design changes in a timely manner;
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Procore;
  • Familiarity with project scheduling software such as Primavera;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical writing skills;
  • Must have a valid driver's license; and
  • Electrical infrastructure design/management experience.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • DDOT experience; and
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2018 and Microstation is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed 80% of the time remotely within an environment of the employees choosing conducive to professional presentation for video conferencing and completion of assigned activities. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Field work may be required 10% of the time where work may be conducted outside in one or more of the following conditions: heat or cold, wet or humid, and dry or arid. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed. Travel and in-person communication may be required 10% of the time in relation to pursuits of new work opportunities.

New employees MUST be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since the final dose of a primary vaccine series.
