Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Process Engineer.


  • Manage and ensure that processes and procedures are addressed as various elements of the new 700MHz radio system become available for use. Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure issues are addressed in a timely fashion to maintain the project schedule;
  • Ensure that cut-over plans are constructed within schedule and thoroughly coordinated with operational departments to ensure minimal impact on operations;
  • Maintain and monitor the delivery of the project against operational parameters established by department SMEs and provide reports to the management team as required;
  • Review plans and specifications for construction purposes; advise various or required client offices and consultants of required process and procedure changes needed, as applicable;
  • Work with the client's Task Manager, Engineers, and stakeholders to author technical documents addressing process and procedural changes required to support the new 700MHz radio system.
  • Attend or conduct project coordination meetings and quality meetings with each discipline involved as needed to ensure effective project control;
  • Prepare project-related correspondence to consultants, contractors, Authority officials, and other agencies; prepares progress reports, issue reports, and recommendations to the project management team; and
  • Complete a daily work report that outlines the work completed for the day.


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering plus a minimum of five (5) years demonstrable experience in directing, managing, and administering communication related construction projects in an operational environment;
  • Knowledge of the laws, ordinances, and regulations governing operational activities within the signatory jurisdictions of the client's compact;
  • Must be able to author documents of a technical nature with a high degree of accuracy over subject material and articulated in a manner that allows for easy comprehension of material from a highly diverse audience;
  • Must be able to prepare documentation to support client's position in each case;
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, including holidays;
  • Must be able to successfully complete client's Railway Worker Protection Certification (RWP) Class;
  • Must be able to pass a Government background check;
  • Must have reliable transportation and must possess a valid District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia motor vehicle operator's license; and
  • Must be able to work in a remote environment and know how to effectively conduct meetings online.
