Background and Experience Required:

The Power Equipment Commissioning Authority Lead (CA Lead) shall be an effective team leader Client can call upon to work cooperatively to deliver projects on-time and on-budget, ensuring quality standards are met and the program is implemented in conformance with Client’s commissioning requirements and guidelines, and be in accordance with Client’s Quality Management and Safety and Security Plans and Procedures. The CA Lead shall be dedicated to the project and will be the primary point of contact to the CA Team.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrable ability to build and manage complex budgets and detailed project schedules;
  • Demonstrable ability to supervise and evaluate subordinate staff;
  • Ability to independently organize and carry out assignments with minimum direction as well as the ability to function effectively as a leader of highly professional personnel;
  • Ability  to produce communications quickly, efficiently, and to a high standard;
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels of the organization, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and organizations with whom interface is required;

Qualifications

  • A LEED Accredited Professional (AP) is required,
  • A minimum of 15 years or equivalent of demonstrable experience with major (non- interrupted) systems, heavy industry, large-scale electrical, and/or utility construction, in a rapid transit field or related area;
  • Direct working experience with Traction Power, alternating current (AC) switch-gear, and other power equipment systems and/or utilities is a plus;
  • Experience leading teams and managing projects;
  • Must be able to successfully complete Railway Worker Protection Certification (RWP) Class;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (entire suite);
  • Must be able to pass a government background check;
  • Must have reliable transportation;
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is preferred. Client may consider other certifications with additional relevant experience;
  • A  bachelor’s degree in  architecture, engineering, project management, construction management, or related field is preferred;
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour certification is preferred;
  • Familiarity with  project management software system (PROCORE) is desirable.
