Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Office Engineer(s).

Brief Description: To provide staff augmentation services to implement Rail & Bus Infrastructure Rehabilitation for the Tunnel Vent Shaft Rehabilitation initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil and related engineering disciplines;
  • Working knowledge, or ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge, of client's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures;
  • Proven thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, arithmetic, and general office practices and procedures;
  • Demonstrated experience to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals with whom interface is required;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex files and maintaining the corresponding, required project controls;
  • Ability to accumulate and evaluate historical cost data documents and construction procedures and methods to maintain current estimating standards and databases;
  • Ability to coordinate the preparation of cost reduction, value engineering, and risk assessment recommendations for program cost-effectiveness;
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software for cost estimating and for historical data collection and resources; and
  • Working knowledge of engineering requirements, program policies, and procedures by which the Authority is governed including Federal, state, and local transit administration regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrable experience managing large projects is preferred, and educational qualifications can be substituted for at least seven (7) years of demonstrable experience in same;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, analytical, and strong technical writing skills are required;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in performing duties; and
  • Ability to work independently.
