Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Office Engineer.


  • Proven thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, arithmetic, and general office practices and procedures;
  • Demonstrated experience in exercising good judgment and discretion in performing duties;
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently;
  • Demonstrated experience to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals with whom interface is required;
  • Ability to accumulate and evaluate historical cost data documents and construction procedures and methods to maintain current estimating standards and databases; and
  • Ability to coordinate the preparation of cost reduction, value engineering, and risk assessment recommendations for program cost-effectiveness.


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, business, or related field;
  • Five (5) years of demonstrable experience managing large projects is preferred, and educational qualifications can be substituted for at least seven (7) years of demonstrable experience in same;
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil and related engineering disciplines;
  • Working knowledge, or ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge, of client's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures;
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software for cost estimating and for historical data collection and resources; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

New employees MUST be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since the final dose of a primary vaccine series.
