Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Office Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret construction documents in order to certify that work is performed in accordance with approved plans;
  • Administer the submittal and Request for Information (RFI) process for assigned projects;
  • Maintain a working knowledge of client’s standard processes and procedures;
  • Contribute to progress updates and performance metrics for monthly briefings;
  • Support management of project deliverables in Procore;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in performing duties;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals with whom interface is required;
  • Ability to maintain complex project controls, filings, and corresponding contract administration required record keeping; and
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of five (5) years of work experience on infrastructure projects (transit or architectural) is required, and at least 3 out of the 5 years in the transit or construction industry is preferred;
  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field;
  • Working knowledge of engineering requirements, program policies and procedures by which the Authority is governed including federal, state, and local transit administration regulations and policies;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong analytical technical writing skills are required;
  • Proficient with applying scheduling software (i.e. Oracle Primavera);
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite tools;
  • Knowledge of and experience using CADD software (MicroStation/Inroads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D) is preferred; and
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license for the District of Columbia, Virginia, and/or Maryland is preferred.
