Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Construction Safety Inspector.


  • Conduct regular on-site safety inspections of all Project personnel, Contractors and Sub-Contractors to ensure compliance with all safety requirements;
  • Monitory Safety Key Performance Indices for all aspects of assigned work under the Radio & Cellular Infrastructure Replacement Project;
  • Maintain and monitor the performance of the project against the KPIs established for both the Project safety Plan and provide reports to the Safety Manager as directed;
  • Work constructively with members of the project team to resolve project safety and/or project quality related issues; provide recommendations to staff members;
  • Attend or conduct project safety meetings with each discipline involved as needed to ensure effective project control;
  • Prepare project-related correspondence to consultants, contractors, Authority officials, and other agencies;
  • Complete a daily work report that outlines the work completed for the day; and
  • Investigate accidents/incidents, review hazard analyses by staff, review project safety plans, complete project safety reports, and other tasks as assigned by the Safety Manager.


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field plus a minimum of three (3) years demonstrable experience in system safety and/or construction safety or must have at least six (6) years of demonstrable experience in similar fields;
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and their application to planning, design, and construction. Knowledge of ISO 45001, preferred;
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, including holidays;
  • Must be able to successfully complete client's Railway Worker Protection Certification (RWP) Class;
  • Must successfully obtain OSHA-30 Hour (Construction) Certification, in-person course;
  • Must be able to pass a Government background check;
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces; and
  • Must have reliable transportation and must possess a valid District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia motor vehicle operator's license..
