Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Construction Inspector.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend contract documents, including complex plans, specifications, and shop drawings;
  • Ability to understand construction testing disciplines, such as welding, non-destructive testing, and concrete testing is applicable;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex files and maintaining the corresponding, required project controls; and
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in performing duties.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrable experience in construction engineering and inspection and testing for large infrastructure projects;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in facilities rehabilitation;
  • Certification in general building construction, inspection, or code enforcement from the American Construction Inspector's Association or other similar association or regulatory governmental organization;
  • Working knowledge of engineering requirements, program policies, and procedures by which the Authority is governed including Federal, state, and local transit administration regulations and policies.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, analytical, and strong technical writing skills are required;
  • Ability to work independently; and
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite tools.

New employees MUST be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since the final dose of a primary vaccine series.
