Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Civil Engineer.

This engineering position is designed for a five year engineer who can perform basic mid-level civil engineering designs for a wide range of public and private sector clients. Typical tasks include site and utility design, storm drainage and stormwater management design, preparation of erosion and sediment control plans, preparation of special project details and other related items. The Civil Engineer will be located in DHA's Silver Spring, MD design office.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
  • EIT Certification and a desire to obtain the professional engineering licensure within two years;
  • Minimum of five (5) year's demonstrable experience in designing site civil engineering projects;
  • Knowledge of local permitting and building codes;
  • Experience designing projects in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area (DC, Montgomery & Prince Georges Counties, Northern Virginia cities & counties) is a preference;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong technical writing skills;
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2010 or later; and Microstation a plus;
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions for brief assignments.
  • The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. The noise level on the construction site is often loud.
  • Hours will vary based on job needs, the official office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; with one hour for lunch. Occasional evening meetings and overtime can be expected. Travel and nights away from home office may be required.

New employees MUST be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since the final dose of a primary vaccine series.
