Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Assistant Office Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in meetings to confirm contract administration compliance and conformance with policy and programmatic requirements, in order to support making recommendations about resolutions to contract administration, conformance to plans and specifications, compliance to technical requirements, adherence to budget, and addressing cost and schedule-related issues;
  • Collect and analyze data to prepare statistical and narrative reports, and produce comprehensive status reports with graphs regarding project performance in comparison to key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Maintain contract records;
  • Administer the project's plans and specifications;
  • Manage related engineering and administrative records;
  • Support the Task Manager's assigned field office staff;
  • Maintain document control processes and various document logs, track and log contract administration compliance, and report on the status of open action items;
  • Review documents (including plans, specifications, and other contracts) supplied by others for technical compliance and recommend necessary revisions to support the program requirements; and
  • Support management of project deliverables in Procore.

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressive work experience on infrastructure projects (transit or roadway/highway);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical and technical writing skills are required;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite tools;
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and/or Maryland or an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with the ability to obtain a PE license within six (6) months of Notice to Proceed is preferred; and
  • Knowledge of and experience using CADD software (MicroStation/Inroads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D) is preferred.

New employees MUST be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated means two weeks have passed since the final dose of a primary vaccine series.
