Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered, a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Architect or Engineer with ADA compliance experience.

Candidate must be a self-starter with strong conceptual design and detailing skills to ensure all transit facilities comply with ADA standards.  


  • Review plans for all transit related facilities for ADA compliance;
  • Communicate and document results in a constructive manner to each department;
  • Verify and document that any non-compliance issues have been fixed when notified by the client’s department.


The ADA Engineer/Architect shall have experience with design and review of facilities, reading station and construction drawings and knowledge of the ADA regulations. Previous experience as a consultant to the client is preferable. Specific qualifications for the position are as follows:

  • A Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field;
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required;
  • Experience in ADA design of at least ten (10) years of experience with three (3) years’ experience in a transit/rail field;
  • Ability to read civil engineering drawings and architectural drawings;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products;
  • Working knowledge of CAD/BIM, REVIT and other design software.
